Stemming from a dream of a film that doesn't exist... a sequal to the 1983 Kargl & Rybczyński film Angst. In the dream I was making the film, directing, building sets, stage-hand/PA and lighting, I was in the film, at times it wasn't a film at all just a reality... a horrific true-crime occurrence instead of a fabrication, I was observer and participant (but neither aggressor nor victim...). It made me sick to my stomach but the mis-en-scene was so stunning ...it was a film again, no longer a nightmare. "It needs to be like Douglas Sirk was here" i remember saying to the director... "why don't you know that already?" i said.

The dream shifted and also remained tied to the same... the grey european landscape became a warm western desert, horses, circles of light & lens flares in the window, in the hot sun, lots of denim and vivid orange dirt, mesas in the distance.

...anyways, this album is a soundtrack to that film (or i guess that dream).
a synth-score and foley sounds were recorded to tape, then manipulated (played back and forth and grinded and garbled with a single cassette player [trks 1&2]).
...also songs and spaces constructed for this non-existent film soundtrack [trks 3,4,&5].... those moments in the film/dream where something more sentimental took over, when the sun was going down.... oranges turning to blues. I sing about these horses, their hair, ...most of the violence disappears but its still there in the space of Western dirt.
